I worked with Headstrong to prepare their outsource pipeline and later took some of the game assets and upscaled them in Zbrush and prepared these renders in Max with V-Ray.
The method was pretty brute force, using the bump and spec maps from the game the surfaces were tessellated and re-shaped with a little more detail for muscle and cloth weight and then additional dress pieces were made where necessary.
Varla’s hair is courtesy of SURFACE Digital Ltd. who were also producing renders and providing Art Direction on the project.

I worked closely with SUMO Digital to develop the first hit racing game, the images were created using in-game models and upscaling them (sub-dividing, adding details, shaders and lighting), they were brought in from Maya to Max and rendered with V Ray.
